The MMSU Extension Directorate with the College Extension coordinators and administrative staff/personnel of the university attended the Internal Audit Training of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 in preparation of the certification of the university.  

            The activity was conducted at the University Training Center (UTC) on June 28-29, 2017 as a continuation of the training conducted last March 6-7, 2017. Engr. Elaine Morales of Synerquest Management Consultancy Services, Inc. served as the speaker of the Internal Audit Training (based on ISO 19011:2011).

            As a complement to the first ISO training of the university, the activity aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the participants in auditing documents and processes.

            Lectures and discussion beefed the two-day activity on the basic principles of auditing, including the roles and responsibilities, methods of conducting the audit, and audit reporting. A sample live audit was also conducted on Extension Directorate in areas of context of organization, leadership, planning, support, operations, performance evaluation, and improvement. Results of the sample audit were presented to identify the strengths and windows for improvement.

            The training commenced with the participants saying that they are way closer to getting the audit done, and becoming the auditor (Khimbee Miguel).
