The Extension Directorate’s Information and Technology (IT) Caravan continues to spread awareness and disseminate information on technological breakthroughs in the field of agriculture in the academic community of Ilocos Norte Agricultural College (INAC) in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte from February 26 to March 2, 2018 in celebration of its 73rd founding anniversary.

Themed “Takuat, Talugading, ken Timpuyog: Salindeg ti INAC a Nadaeg”, the festivity is a highlight of crafts and craves ranging from student hand works and hardworks to product exhibits from Extension Office’s assisted entrepreneurs, the Philippine Carabao Center, and other exhibitors, that spells the close network of research, talent and skill, and unity in communicating and encouraging progress in the community.

The MMSU Booth showcases products of its supported entrepreneurs and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials as tools to inspire community people and visitors to venture into livelihood opportunities and start entrepreneurial activities in their ends. Among the products displayed in the booth are SCUFYND’s rice in pouch and bottle from Lagui-Sail, Laoag City, Bugnay Wine from Adams, Agnes Dragon Fruit Wine and herbal soap from Currimao, Ginger Wine from the ginger producers in Bangui, the Dragon Fruit KapeExotica of REFMAD Farm in Burgos, bracelets and shellcrafts of the Saud Shellcrafts Association from Pagudpud, and Healtika sweet sorghum vinegar. These products are exhibited as part of Extension’s continuing assistance to these assisted entrepreneurs in promoting and helping them commercialize their products, and reach a wider market while trying to build their own brand.

IEC materials on crops and livestock production and management and food processing serves as the bulk of the booth as they are displayed and distributed to interested visitors. Through thorough conversation of their needs and desires for learning, the protocol for conduct of trainings to different places following the writing of a letter addressed to the President, indicating the training/s desired, and endorsed by the LGU Mayor is also being shared to interested visitors.
