MMSU Upgrades the Competence of its Security Personnel

Written by Administrator on 06 March 2018

45 security personnel (second batch) of the University are currently undergoing a two-day seminar-workshop this March 6-7 at the University Training Center.

Aimed at equipping the security marshals of the University with the skills, knowledge, and values they need in their work areas, the seminar-workshop also serves as an avenue to strengthen companionship and collaboration between and among the second batch of the security personnel. The first batch of the seminar was conducted last week, February 27-28.

“The security of the University’s properties and constituents is a priority we must address with optimism and love for our work”, said Dr. Cajigal, the Director for Extension. Hence, to fully capacitate the employees, lectures from equally adept speakers will beef the two-day activity tackling topics on personality development, knowledge enhancement on policies and traffic management, security troubleshooting, first aid, and other areas relevant to their line of work to update their knowledge and skills and enhance their attitudes in their areas of assignment.

The speakers for the first half day include Rev. Daniel Joseph Eclarin of Dingras Faith Academy on Values Re-orientation; Personality Development and Proper Decorum by Prof. Rona Leigh Bueno of the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy; and Dr. Ninfa Asia of UMDP on Professionalism and Accountability as Public Servants; while the second half is given to Atty. Brian Jay Corpuz of the Administrative Services on the Review of MMSU Policies, Rules, and Regulations; Engr. Romeo Duldulao of PPGSD on Security and Simple Troubleshooting; Dr. Leonisa Silvestre of the University Infirmary on First Aid; and Ms. Judy Sabas of Land Transportation Office on Traffic Enforcement and Management.

The second day will be dedicated to P/SR SUP Crispin Agno Sr. of Batac Police Station on Courtesy, Discipline, Professional Conduct, and Ethics, Intelligence Operations, and General Duties and Responsibilities of Security Guards for the first half of the day followed by his talk on Guarding Systems, Use of Firearms and Equipment, and Notes, Investigation, and Report Writing for the afternoon session.

With this training, it is hoped that MMSU will realize a nurturing and vibrant environment for the whole MMSU community, knowing that the security marshals are fully equipped with relevant knowledge and skills and positive attitude to all.
