Extension ITC joins Laoag’s Pamulinawen Festival

                As part of its continuing participation to local exhibits, the Information and Technology Caravan (ITC) of the Extension Directorate joins Laoag’s Pamulinawen Festival in its 2019 Agro-industrial, Fishery, and Horticulture Trade Fair with the theme, Thrive.

                Running from February 2-15, the exhibit-cum-trade fair is an avenue of showcasing the ingenuity and creativity of the Ilokanoes from its production of organic vegetables, product development that has sustained families, and processed food products with export-quality.

                The ITC of the Extension Directorate showcased its science-based products such as the bamboo souvenir item, camangeg-based food products, seaweed polvoron, and bamboo seedlings propagated through one-node technology. Products of assisted entrepreneurs are also a highlight of the booth such as SCUFYND rice coffee, turmeric powder, and other line products, Lucky Theo’s assorted chips, fruit wines, Saud Shellcraft Association’s bracelets and bead products, and others. These are all incorporated in the booth as continuing assistance to the community partners in the promotion and commercialization of their products.

                Information about the services, programs, and projects of the Extension Office are likewise promoted to interested visitors of the booth to encourage them to seek assistance on how they can build their businesses and improve their production. IEC materials were also distributed to the public to guide them in their livestock production and organic farming practices and spark entrepreneurial activities through food processing. These are made available to increase awareness their awareness on the services of the University while solidly building its visibility to the public.
