College of Agriculture, Food, and Sustainable Development (CAFSD)
The College was actively involved in the provision of expert services of the Extension Directorate training programs particularly on organic fertilizer production and utilization, crop production, bamboo production, animal raising, Bonsai making, food processing, among others. In addition, the following activities were conducted by the college.
River Clean-up and Stream Bank Rehabilitation
The activity was a joint conduct of the Department of Environmental Science (DES), the Department of Forestry, the Department of Development Communication (DDC), and the Bamboo Development Project. River clean-up and bamboo planting were conducted by the community residents of Brgy. Quiling Sur, City of Batac, and the faculty and students of MMSU.
The activity was a joint undertaking of the college and the College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology (CASAT) on the shores of Pagudpud and Currimao, Ilocos Norte. MMSU faculty and students, including the community residents, actively participated in this undertaking.
Rehabilitation of the Quiaoit River
Spearheaded by the Department of Development Communication (DDC), a communication campaign was conducted on the rehabilitation of the Quiaoit River particularly on barangays Ben-Agan and Barani. Barangay residents were actively involved in this activity.
