The local government unit (LGU) of Burgos signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with MMSU on January 20 to enhance the skills and teaching capabilities of local educators through the College of Industrial Technology’s (CIT) banner extension program.
Under the CIT’s Upgrading for Career, Alternative, and Lifelong Educators (UPSCALE),” the project team will implement two projects. These projects aim to train educators in creating and enhancing educational resources through image editing and improve teaching effectiveness among Technology and Livelihood Education and Technical and Vocational Education teachers in Burgos.
UPSCALE program representatives, including program leader Dr. Athen Lee Delos Santos, project leader Mr. Kenneth Delos Santos, and staff members, led the MoA signing. They were joined by CIT OIC-Dean Prof. Aldous dV Asuncion, extension coordinator Prof. Fairie Anne A. Domingo, and Municipal Government of Burgos Mayor Crescente Narciso Garcia. Other LGU representatives present included Enp. Jonas Tesoro, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, and Enp. Jay-Arr Tiguimao, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office.
The partnership comes after CIT’s successful implementation of UPSCALE extension projects, which identified a need for further training in instructional strategies, digital resource development, and image editing software to address teachers' evolving needs and support their professional growth.
Beyond this collaboration with LGU Burgos, the UPSCALE team will also engage in a joint committee session and final reading with the Sangguniang Bayan in the Municipality of Vintar, further expanding their efforts to empower educators and foster community development.
