Thirty-four extension programs and projects were presented and reviewed during the 2025 In-House Proposal Presentation held from June 4 to 5 at the ILAARRDEC One-Stop Information Shop.
The proposals were evaluated by Dr. Marlowe Aquino, planning director; Dr. Sherlyn Nicolas, monitoring and evaluation chief; Dr. Marilou Lucas, extension director; Dr. Dionisio Bucao, research director; and Ms. Abegel Joson, university researcher.
Dr. Lucas emphasized that the university’s proposals must be community-focused. “Our extension proposals must be based on identified needs. This ensures that we are addressing real issues on the ground, helping us prioritize efforts and create greater impact,” she said.
Dr. Nathaniel Alibuyog, Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation, echoed this, highlighting the university’s role in community development.
“Let’s work together to strengthen our extension efforts. By involving more stakeholders and presenting strong, evidence-based proposals, we can make our technologies more accessible and impactful in the communities we serve,” Dr. Alibuyog said.
MMSU President Virgilio Julius P. Manzano, Jr. also expressed gratitude to all who submitted proposals, expressing hope that these will soon be realized. “Let us support and advocate for impactful extension programs and projects in all LGUs (local government units) across the province,” he said.
