CAFSD Dingras Conducts Agriculture-Based Training for Rural Farmers

The College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development (CAFSD) of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Dingras Campus conducted the first batch of its extension project, "Agriculture-Based Training and Capacity Building for Rural Farmers and Communities in Dingras, Ilocos Norte," on July 21, 2026.

The activity was attended by the first batch of trainees from Barangay Madamba, Dingras, Ilocos Norte. The project aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and capacities of rural farmers and community members through agriculture-based training activities.

Led by Dr. Sosima R. Demandante, Project Leader, the training focused on sustainable farming practices, improved agricultural productivity, environmental stewardship, and community development. Faculty members and resource persons facilitated lectures, demonstrations, and discussions that provided participants with practical knowledge applicable to their farming activities.

The extension project reflects CAFSD's commitment to supporting local communities by sharing research-based agricultural practices and promoting sustainable rural development.

The successful completion of the first batch marks another milestone in the university's continuing extension efforts to strengthen partnerships with farming communities in Dingras, Ilocos Norte.
