The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) held its Multisectoral Forum (MSF) on the National Competition Policy (NCP) and the Competition Advocacy Pledge (CAP) in Ilocos Region on July 30, continuing its series of localized advocacy and capacity-building activities for local government units, regional government agencies, business groups, cooperatives, and private sector representatives.

Spearheaded in 2021, the MSF aims to build more inclusive local markets by promoting fair competition and a level playing field among all stakeholders.

Organized in partnership with Mariano Marcos State University's Competition Local Advocacy Network Project (CLAN) Training Team, the activity featured discussions on the Philippine Competition Act and tailored breakout sessions focused on mainstreaming competition principles in local governance for the public sector and adoption of voluntary competition compliance program for businesses and representatives from the private sector.

As the primary means for mainstreaming the NCP and promoting the CAP at the local level, the conduct of the MSF was also in partnership with the Regional Development Council, Region I, DEPDev Regional Office I-Ilocos, and Department of Trade and Industry DTI Region 1.

Committed to bridging the gap between national policy and local implementation, the PCC is set to engage with stakeholders in key regional areas, with MSF sessions taking place in Region II, CARAGA, and Negros Island Region this 2026.
