More women entreps to rise in Pasuquin

Twenty members of the Local Council for Women (LCW) and interested Barangay Health Workers (BHW) in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte join the Meal Management and Catering Services: A Gender-based Skills Enhancement Training and Extension Support for the Local Council for Women in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte being conducted virtually via Google Meet this May 10-12, 2021.
The training is a collaboration between the MMSU, through the Extension Directorate and the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), and the Agricultural Training Institute –Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1). This was conducted to enhance the present knowledge of these interested women and help them build this knowledge into full-blown catering service.
In the message of Dr. Melinda Mangabat, Assistant Director of ATI-RTC, said training awaits good opportunity since the ATI is a potential market for their services in the different trainings activities of the agency. By helping them become a full-pledged catering service provider, they can also serve their fellows with their brand of mindful menu for the nourishment and presentable venue set-up for comfortable atmosphere.
President Shirley Agrupis, on the other hand, reiterated the support of the Mariano Marcos State University to technical and other assistance they may be needing while they grow in this venture, especially exploring the myriad of possibilities from the knowledge and skills they will gain from this skills training on meal management and catering services. And with the Food Products and innovation Center (FPIC) of the University, she also hopes to have them in the University to explore more opportunities.
Topics to be discussed virtually include the Magna Carta for Women by Ms. Nataliza Llapitan, Overview of the Importance of Meal Management And Catering Services by Dr. Lorma Valera, Food Safety and personal Hygiene by Dr. Teresita Pablo, Menu Planning and Quantification by Mr. Ralph Kevin Barolo, How to Prepare Market List and Utensils Requisition by Ms. Fairie Anne Domingo, Recipe Costing and Projected Income Statement by Dr. Felicitas Sanculi, and Venue Planning, Lay-out, and Service by Ms. Judelyn Mandac.
This three-day enhancement training will be conducted virtually via https://meet.google.com/pnz-rpha-gyi for May 10 and 11. A hands-on training is expected on the third day, May 12, in two laboratories of the College of Industrial Technology where they will also be receiving their starter kits in their business venture.
It is hoped that this training will be instrumental in building more entrepreneurs in the municipality. The participants of the three-day training are expected to use their learned skills in setting up their entrepreneurial activity as part of economic recovery in the midst of the pandemic.
