With the Program Anchor, Ms. Mercy Gano, Chief of the Applied Communication of the Extension Directorate, the Episode 3 highlights how the SOA impacts communities through dissemination of relevant information and technologies along home technology, livelihood, health, and other emerging social concerns.

“Our SOA has already aired more than 200 airings in our three partner radio stations and we have also tapped FB Live to accommodate our netizens. The SOA has become our strategy to keep our communities engaged, informed, and empowered, making their time productive and worthwhile while we altogether brave the pandemic”, Ms. Gano stressed.

The SOA TIPPS Program started last February 2021. Running for around nine (9) months already, the program has aired more than 70 topics along food processing, livestock raising and management, entrepreneurship and financial literacy, health, wellness, and sanitation, women’s rights, product development and value adding, herbal and medicinal plants, organic agriculture and climate change, bio-intensive gardening and vegetable production, forestry and environment management, and other topics concerning the bigger society such as African Swine Fever (ASF) and the promotion of virgin coconut oil as adjunct therapy for probable and suspect cases of CoVID-19.

“We continue to share these information to help the community people informed and empowered such that we contribute to their resilience, sustainability, and empowerment even amid the pandemic. And this has allowed us to strengthen our partnership with the Local Government Units”, Ms. Gano added.
