Extension Booth: Your Gateway to MMSU Services

Written by Administrator on 24 April 2019

A perennial activity of the Extension Directorate, the Extension Booth is now open to all visitors of the University as it boasts the products of its assisted entrepreneurs.

The booth showcases the products of its assisted entrepreneurs such as the bracelets of the Saud Shellcraft Producer’s Association, dragon fruit wine and massage oils of Agnes Asuncion, the rice coffee and other products of Sarah Dabucon, Mia Soriano’s assorted chips and chichacorn, San Nicolas miki noodles, mushroom crispies, and other wines such as bugnay, ginger, and turmeric.

IEC materials are also continuously distributed to visitors interested to start experimenting with the production and processing technologies printed. Three-fold materials include production technologies of farm forages to help farmers visiting the booth prepare for the prolonged dry season affecting the province. These materials were printed to address the need on increasing the awareness of the rural folk in managing their farms and farm animals, and as a complementary reading material for the technologies they have learned through the recently conducted School-on-the-Air on Crops and Livestock Technologies.

Information on the projects, programs, and services of the Extension Directorate are also continuously shown through the audio-visual presentations of the Directorate to introduce to new visitors the services the Office can offer. Feedbacks of beneficiaries on the programs and services of the Office, to include its conduct of SOA, promotion of climate resilient technologies, and other technologies in managing farm production are also being showcased to inspire the community folks to partner with MMSU, increase their awareness on the technologies promoted by the University, and encourage them to start making their dreams come true through the testimonies of farmer-partners.

The Information and Technology Caravan (ITC) project of the Applied Communication (ApCom) Section of the Directorate is an exhibit booth cum service delivery to strategically bring MMSU and developmental information and technologies (IT) closer to the people in Ilocandia. It is a multi-function IT booth which aims to showcase MMSU programs and at the same time promote information and technological breakthroughs developed and fine-tuned by or in the University. Through this activity, more and more people are becoming more aware on the services and assistance the University can offer in the production of crops and livestock, food processing, livelihood establishment, and management of their enterprise.
